The 10000th set of CKD bonded vehicles from the Chongqing KD factory of Great Wall has been shipped
Recently, the Chongqing KD factory of Great Wall Motors reached a major milestone with the successful shipment of the 10000th set of vehicles using CKD bonded mode. This landmark event marks a new stage of development for the country's first automobile KD parts bonded export model. The batch of spare parts will be transported to Thailand through efficient logistics through rail sea intermodal transportation. In the future, its export territory will further expand to emerging markets such as Kazakhstan and Russia, and continue to expand its overseas market layout.
Previously, Yongchuan Comprehensive Bonded Zone worked closely with customs to innovate and launch a customs clearance model of "dispersed registration at checkpoints and centralized customs declaration for complete classification". This model effectively solves the problem of low entry efficiency caused by the long consolidation cycle due to the wide and scattered sources of components in traditional regulatory processes. The new model realizes "one warehouse consolidation, one order consolidation", greatly optimizing the logistics process, significantly reducing the logistics cost of enterprises, and providing strong support for the efficient development of automobile CKD export business.
Since its closure and operation in June 2023, the Chongqing KD factory of Great Wall has gradually formed a mature and stable production capacity. Currently, it has achieved an efficient production capacity of shipping a batch of goods every 4 days, with a single batch value of up to 20 million yuan. At present, factory components are mainly exported to countries such as Thailand, Ecuador, and Brazil. After assembly in overseas factories, they have become popular models in the market, such as the Great Wall Cannon and Tank 300, and are deeply loved by local consumers.
Zhao Chunxi, the person in charge of the Yongchuan KD factory of Great Wall Motors, said, "In the second half of the year, we will add new markets in Kazakhstan and Russia. It is expected that the cumulative export volume will reach 20000 sets by the end of 2025, and the annual trade volume is expected to exceed 1.5 billion yuan, about 3500 TEUs." He further emphasized that the shipment of the 10000th set is a new starting point, and Great Wall Motors will take this opportunity to actively help achieve the goal of "Chongqing Automobile Going Global", fully demonstrating the strong strength and competitiveness of Chinese manufacturing in the global automotive market.
