The world's first China Europe Arctic container fast shipping route has officially opened
On September 22nd, the "Istanbul Bridge" ship completed loading operations at berth 7 of Beilun First Container Terminal Co., Ltd. in Zhoushan Port, Ningbo, Zhejiang. It set sail in the early morning of September 23rd and will sail through the Arctic Channel to the port of Frixtor in the UK, marking the official opening of the world's first China Europe Arctic container fast shipping route (referred to as the China Europe Arctic Fast).
The China Europe Arctic Express travels directly to Europe via the Northeast Arctic Route (NSR), with a one-way transportation time of only 18 days, which can be shortened by 22 days compared to traditional routes, and the one-way carbon emissions have been reduced by about 50%.
This route is a container route specifically designed for cross-border e-commerce and high value-added goods, and is also an important practical achievement of the construction of the "Ice Silk Road". It will provide a faster and lower carbon international logistics choice for China's high-end manufacturing, cross-border e-commerce, new energy and other industries.
The launch of the China Europe Arctic Express means that Ningbo Zhoushan Port has extended its route to the Arctic Ocean for the first time, filling the "last piece of the puzzle" in its global route network.
